Cure is a mysterious, somewhat mystical thriller that follows a detective on the hunt for a very unique serial killer. Both visually beautiful, and at times visually gross, I found Cure to be very captivating and intriguing. I also really appreciate all the details that went into the writing and direction, aspects of the film were subtle enough you might not notice them unless you watched it again.
I found Kurosawa’s sound design to be absolutely chilling at points, and it served its own extremely significant purpose in the story and in the viewer’s understanding of the film throughout. Overall, I was quite impressed with this mystery and I would love to watch it again.
Rating: 💿 I liked this movie!
My best friends and I (known affectionately as Goblin House) have a regular movie night where we all sit down together and watch a movie one of us has chosen. Most of these reviews will come from a Goblin Movie Night, so they will be tagged with the nickname of the Goblin who picked the movie.
